“…this is a musical world the listener has stumbled into, not just a representation of something happening in a concert hall.”
- I Care If You Listen

A young woman in a black dress standing barefoot on the steps of a stone monument, with a cello lying on the grass in front of her, in a cemetery with tall trees and green foliage.

I’m Eden, a composer, cellist, instrument designer, and extreme vocalist known for immersive performances that double as individuation rituals. As 2023–2024 Artist-in-Residence at Mount Auburn Cemetery, I created Argent & Sable, an electroacoustic instrument built from a former pipe organ, and composed The Cemetery Tapes, a live album blending amplified cello, extreme vocals, programming, Argent & Sable, and percussion. My debut solo album Corpus Vice was released in 2022.

I’ve collaborated with hundreds of artists including Pile, Third Eye Blind, and Moon Tooth, improvised on the Grammy-winning Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Dawn of Ragnarök soundtrack by Stephanie Economou, and many, many more.

My life’s work is all about making bold choices. Don’t hesitate to talk to me.

“Eden Rayz forges a new type of music – avant-garde in its concept; dark, mysterious, and absolutely immersive in its execution. Heavy music has never been so adventurous.

Kind words

“Eden is a dream musical collaborator. She thinks outside the box and is never afraid to push creative boundaries. As a composer, I feel lucky to know someone who can bring that unique spirit of expression and experimentation to my scores. As if that's not enough, she has a cool and fun energy that makes the process such a pleasure. Eden added so much grit and life to my score for 'Assassin's Creed Valhalla: Dawn of Ragnarok' and I look forward to featuring her on more soundtracks in the future!”

Stephanie Economou
Composer

“As an educator, Eden curates mindful workshops and creates safe spaces that encourage individual musicians of all backgrounds to intimately connect with their own artistry. She provides people with the space, time, and inquisitive spark to unveil creative ideas and find their unique musical voice that may have previously gone unheard.”

Phaedre Sassano
Managing Director, New Directions Cello Festival

“I worked with Eden during her year-long residency at Mount Auburn Cemetery. In that time, she grew to understand and appreciate the Cemetery in a way few others did. The heart, care, and passion she brought to her original compositions was deeply moving to me and the audiences that were fortunate enough to engage with her incredibly creative and insightful work. She would be a valuable addition to any artist residency, cohort, or musical program.”
